I recently received a link to a Portuguese blog on exploration geochemistry titled "Critérios para definição de anomalias". It was a real test of my rusty Portuguese, but I was aided by the handy Google Translate tool!
The closing remark observed that "A reliable interpretation requires a combination of knowledge and experience geology and geochemistry." So true!
This reminded me of a little function in the Geosoft scatter tool (included in Geochemistry and Geophysics extensions) that is often overlooked. Samples in the scatter tool can be symbolized by a string channel - including Sampler, Year, Company or a geological observation field such as SampleType or Lithology.
Multiple scatter tools can be open at the same time, with linking between database, map, and tools. I often create a scatter tool of North vs East which behaves like a simple dynamic map.
